Capacity Building

This is a term widely used in the not-for-profit sector and allows the client management and staff to gain knowledge of best practice and techniques in successfully running the charitable organisation.

It involves transferring the skills of a consultant(s) to the Board of Trustees, managers and staff in areas such as good governance, quality of services, growth and financial stability.

In many cases there are opportunities to develop a social enterprise for services which would be an important income stream for the charity to supplement grants and donations.

We have carried out capacity building in over 100 charities and social enterprises throughout Scotland over the last 20 years. We have a network of consultants who can be brought into assignments if a special skill and knowledge is required eg human resource and personnel issues
